Guangzhou’s premier plum blossom spots reach peak bloom

While Guangzhou lacks the icy winter scenes of the north, the city welcomes its own seasonal "snow" as plum blossoms come into bloom. As January unfolds, parks and scenic spots across Guangzhou transform into fragrant seas of flowers, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy the spectacle.

Luogang Xiangxue Park (香雪公園)

Luogang Xiangxue Park, with more than 3,780 plum trees, is one of Guangzhou's most iconic plum blossom destinations. Featuring varieties such as green, pink, vermilion, green-calyx, and beauty plums, the park reaches peak bloom around January 3, offering a "ten miles of plum forests" spectacle amid pavilions, bridges, and flowing streams.

Citizen Square (市民廣場(chǎng))

Citizen Square features more than 1,000 plum trees concentrated in Xiangxueyuan (香雪緣), Plum Blossom Hill (梅花山), and the long corridor. White and red blossoms spill across the hillside, where blue-tiled white walls create a timeless scene. Meanwhile, Xiangxueyuan offers a colorful mix of red, white, and pink blooms, and Plum Blossom Hill presents a sweeping, snow-like panorama.

Baiyun Mountain Plum Blossom Valley (白云山梅花谷)

Covering about 50,000 square meters, Baiyun Mountain Plum Blossom Valley is an ecological and cultural site with over 800 plum trees across seven varieties, expected to reach full bloom in mid-January. Its streams, bridges, and traditional pavilions create a fairy-tale setting, making it a popular destination for photography.

Liuxi River National Forest Park (流溪河國家森林公園)

Liuxi River National Forest Park spans 1,214 hectares and is home to about 100,000 plum trees, making it one of Southeast Asia's largest plum blossom areas. Vast white blooms blanket the hillsides like snow, blending with green mountains and clear waters, releasing a delicate fragrance up close.

Shimen National Forest Park (石門國家森林公園)  

Shimen National Forest Park's "Shimen Xiangxue" area features a 30,000-square-meter plum forest dominated by green plums. Now at peak bloom, dense blossoms create a snow-like "fragrant snow" spectacle, filling the forest with a refreshing scent.
